A third of Brits have volunteered over the festive period, including at a soup kitchen, for charity, for community or school events.

More than a third of Brits are more inclined to carry out random acts of kindness in December than at any other time of the year a new survey shows. The survey of 2,000 adults revealed that 34% of Brits have volunteered over the festive period. By contrast, 52% admitted they never give up their own time for free during the rest of the year.

The research was commissioned by Santander, which teamed up with influencer HarveyRidesBikes, who took to the streets of London dressed as Santa to surprise passers-by with red chocolate coins and unexpected gifts on a Santa-nder Cycle bike.
