OWENSBORO, Ky. — The Owensboro Transit System launched its longtime holiday tradition, offering free rides on all buses from Dec. 10 through Dec. 23.
The city is also selling December monthly passes at 50% off, further cutting costs for regular riders.

“We feel it’s a good way for the city to give back, especially during this time of year,” DeRossitt said. “Everybody’s in need every once in a while, and it’s just a good thing to do.”
Last year’s free-ride period drew nearly 14,000 passengers, part of an annual ridership that tops 250,000. A standard one-way fare is normally $1.
