Now, the company is once again making headlines after announcing the restoration of a polar service that was canceled during the pandemic.

Amtrak recently added a seventh daily trip to its Gold Runner route, connecting Modesto and Sacramento, and stopping in other towns along the way. The reintroduction of this service is part of the Valley Rail Project , led by the Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (SJRRC) and the San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority (SJJPA), which aim to improve rail service between Sacramento and the San Joaquin Valley.
