LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is issuing a warning following a massive data breach at the company 700Credit.

The breach has impacted nearly six million people nationwide, including more than 160,000 Michiganders.

The Michigan-based company provides services to auto dealerships during the purchase credit application process, including credit reports and credit checks.

The company announced in October that a breach was discovered, compromising personal data collected between May and October.

Information includes names, addresses, Social Security numbers and dates of birth.

700Credit will begin mailing notice letters to those impacted during the week of December 15.
