Peachland’s new firehall should be “architecturally pleasing” given the prominence of its proposed location, town officials say in a request for proposals.

The municipality has issued a request for proposals from companies interested in designing and building a new 18,000 sq.-ft. firehall. It could include residential and commercial components, the RFP says.

It must be built near the corner of Highway 97 and 13th Street, although the precise siting of the building is still to be determined.

“The firehall should be architecturally sensitive to the surrounding area, consider the project’s prominent location near a gateway entrance to Peachland, and strike a balance with an architecturally pleasing exterior, while containing a functional building within budget,” the RFP says.
