A 29-year-old New Brunswick resident was arrested and charged for a stabbing in Metuchen, authorities announced Wednesday, Dec. 10.

At 7:34 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, Metuchen police responded to a home on Durham Avenue and found a 23-year-old Long Branch man with stab wounds, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Metuchen Police Chief Arthur Flahetry, Sr. said.

The man was hospitalized for his injuries, authorities said.

An investigation determined Peter Fragoso was the man responsible and it was not a random act of violence, authorities said.

Fragoso is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and obstruction, authorities said.
