DETROIT & FRANKENMUTH, MI - Not one, but two local ice skating rinks are receiving some major national accolades as one of them has just been ranked No. 1 in the entire country with the other ranking in the top 5.

For the second year in a row , the ice skating rink at Campus Martius in downtown Detroit tops USA Today’s 10Best list of Best Ice Skating Rinks .

Detroit’s rink beat out Chicago’s Maggie Daley Park Ice Skating Ribbon to take the top spot.

The 7,200-square-foot rink attracts more than 100,000 skaters each season. It’s surrounded by skyscrapers and is located next to Detroit’s 62-foot tall Christmas Tree and the Cadillac Square Winter Markets .

The rink is open daily, including holidays, through March 1, 2026.
