Erin and Ben Napier are sharing an update about the hotel at the center of a “Home Town” spinoff — and the devastating fire that severely damaged the property over the summer.

The renovation of The Heirloom, a 30-room boutique hotel in the Napiers’ hometown of Laurel, Mississippi was captured for HGTV’s “Inn This Together." But on Aug. 26, a fire broke out in the building, as Erin Napier shared that day in an Instagram post , mentioning her close friends and owners of the venue, Mallorie and Jim Rasberry and Joshua Nowell.

“We held each other,” Erin shared in the post, “and watched while the brave fire fighters from the Laurel FD worked for hours to get it under control. Today feels like a funeral.”
