A falling roof at a nationally significant church is set to be repaired after years of planning.

Stonework and windows at St Peter & St Paul in Lavenham are in need of urgent repair, with water coming through parts of the roof.

It has meant the heritage inside the church - which has marked 500 years of the completion of its tower this year - at risk.

But after years of planning, the Grade I Listed building has now been awarded £30,000 in grants to ensure it can remain open.

The funding includes £20,000 from the National Churches Trust, as well as a £10,000 Wolfson Fabric Repair Grant from the Wolfson Foundation.
