The Boston Red Sox are said to be interested in a reliever they’ve seen many times.
Free-agent righty Seranthony Dominguez is a name Boston has checked in on, Red Sox insiders Chris Cotillo and Sean McAdam of MassLive reported Wednesday.
Dominguez has spent the last season-and-a-half in the American League East following a years-long run in Philadelphia. He was sent to the Baltimore Orioles at the 2024 trade deadline, and remained there until the O’s dealt him to the Toronto Blue Jays at this year’s deadline.
The 31-year-old has 40 saves and 78 holds across 322 big league appearances, including a career-high 16 saves as a rookie in 2018. But control has been an occasional issue — he led the league in wild pitches in 2025 — which has impacted his ability to be a set-and-forget closer.
