HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - SSgt. Andrew Wolfe’s condition continues to improve, according to his family and the West Virginia National Guard.

Wolfe was serving with the West Virginia National Guard when he was shot in an ambush-style attack in Washington, D.C., on November 26.

His mother, Melody Wolfe, shared the following update on his condition:

“Andy is continuing to make HUGE improvements. He was sitting in a chair today for a few hours and was moving more of his right side. I asked if I could kiss him on his cheek, and he pulled me in close and let me give him a kiss, and then held me close with his arm around my neck.
