Tennesseans want the state legislature to focus on boosting the state’s economy next year, a new Vanderbilt poll has found, as 67% of Tennesseans worry they will not have enough money to cover costs of emergency medical care or car repairs.

Vanderbilt's Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions polled 1,046 registered voters, 42% of whom self-identified as Republican and 20% as Democrat. Nearly a quarter (24%) said the legislature should focus on the economy in the upcoming legislative session.
