PAINESVILLE, Ohio (WOIO) - The bench trial for the Painesville man accused of fatally shooting his father began Tuesday in front of Lake County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey Ruple.
Christopher Paul Farmer was indicted on the charges of aggravated murder, murder, and felonious assault for the Sept. 15, 2024 shooting.
Police said officers responded to the home in the 300 block of Stanford St. around 12:53 a.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 67-year-old victim and took Farmer into custody.
Agents with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), the Lake County Coroner and Painesville firefighters assisted police at the crime scene.
