LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A west Louisville affordable housing complex is back open after years of renovations.
Housing Partnership Inc. bought Gateway on Broadway in 2018, and started remodeling it as part of the city's "Reimagine 9th Street" effort.
The $48 million project includes 116 senior apartments, and additional office space for nonprofits.
One nonprofit CEO said remodels like this are vital to west Louisville.
"It is the basic building block in community," West End Opportunity Partnership CEO Laura Douglas said. "It is the basic thing that children need to feel safe, secure, and loved."
As of September, all of the open units had been filled.
Resident Peggy Hardy called the complex a blessing.
