India’s World Cup hero Jemimah Rodrigues credited the Women’s Premier League (WPL) for helping India’s players overcome familiar stumbling blocks and finally cross the finish line to win the historic Women’s World Cup in November. Jemimah said there was a phase in women’s cricket when the team faced heavy criticism for crumbling under pressure, yet few offered constructive feedback or meaningful solutions.
Speaking at Agenda AajTak, Jemimah acknowledged former BCCI secretary Jay Shah’s role in launching the WPL during his tenure in charge of Indian cricket.
