Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma on Thursday unleashed one of his strongest attacks yet on the BJP, declaring that the ruling party would face a “humiliating defeat” in the upcoming TTAADC elections, expected early next year.

Addressing a massive public meeting at Manaipathar in Sepahijala district—where 1,975 supporters from various parties joined the Motha—Pradyot predicted a landslide victory, asserting that his party would bag 25 out of 28 seats in the tribal council polls.

Pradyot accused the BJP of “betraying” the Tiprasa community by delaying the implementation of the Tiprasa Accord, which he said the party had promised to execute within six months. “It has been nearly 20 months, and nothing has moved,” he charged.
