BUFFALO, N.Y. — The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance has reopened the Home Energy Assistance Program Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement (HERR) benefit for eligible older homeowners.
The HERR Benefit helps older residents with repairs or replacements for furnace, boiler, and other direct heating equipment necessary to keep your home's primary heating source working.

The benefit resumed Dec. 11 after being temporarily paused earlier this fall. Due to limited statewide resources, the program is currently available only to qualifying homeowners age 60 and older.
