A winter weather advisory is in place Thursday, Dec. 11, as bands of snow move southeast through Michigan, with accumulation expected in the northwest Lower Peninsula and eastern Upper Peninsula counties.

Charlevoix, Antrim, Otsego, Crawford, Roscommon, Missaukee, Kalkaska, Grand Traverse and Chippewa counties are under a winter weather advisory on Dec. 11, with predicted snow amounts ranging from 1-4 inches by Friday morning, Dec. 12. Wind gusts up to 25 mph are in the forecast, which could create dangerous evening commutes due to blowing snow.
