GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — There's cold, and then there's COLD... temperatures so frigid they threaten the health and welfare of those who unadvisably venture out in them.
KARE 11's weather team has issued a Weather Impact Alert for all day Saturday through noon Sunday due to bitterly cold temperatures that won't climb above zero. Factor in wind chill values between -20 and -30, and conditions will be downright dangerous.
The downward mercury spiral begins Friday, when temps will start off in the high single digits and low teens with low single-digit windchills. KARE 11's John Zeigler says the extreme cold front will then push in from the northwest, with Bemidji expected to record windchills of -30 by early afternoon.
