DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A Duluth Police officer with a tumultuous history on the force is now under investigation involving two allegations of sexual assault.

In July, Northern News Now’s Dan Wolfe confirmed Leibfried was on administrative leave and under investigation.

Wednesday afternoon, Northern News Now confirmed the BCA has wrapped up its investigations into the allegations.

The first alleged incident happened in November, 2024.

A woman told officers she was drinking with Leibfried and some other coworkers at a Duluth bar.

She claims Leibfried continually bought her drinks to the point she was very intoxicated.

The victim says Leibfried ultimately took advantage of her intoxication by having sex with her in his truck.
