DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The Minnesota Ballet is bringing a classic holiday ballet to the Symphony Hall once again.

The classic ‘Nutcracker’ story will hit the stage with a Northland twist.

“It’s about local pride,” said Artistic Director the Ballet, Karl von Rabenau. “We’ve changed it into things that make Duluth great, so the lumber industry, the sailing industry.”

Along with a full cast of professional dancers, there are also close to 75 students from Minnesota Ballet Academy joining the production.

“I think the most exciting thing for my job is to watch these young artists blossom into what they are becoming as young dancers,” he said.

‘The Nutcracker: A Duluth Tale’ runs from Dec. 12 to Dec. 14 at the DECC Symphony Hall.
