ST. PAUL, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced a new plan to strengthen Minnesota’s defenses against fraud on Friday.
The announcement comes after Minnesota has spent a month in the national spotlight for fraud schemes that ran rampant in the state post-COVID.
In a press conference, Walz announced that former BCA Superintendent Tim O’Malley will be leading the state’s fight against fraud as Minnesota’s first Director of Program Integrity.
“Minnesotans deserve to know that their tax dollars are being put to good use, and they deserve to know that they can trust our public institutions. We have work cut out for us to rebuild that trust,” said O’Malley.
