DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A holiday-themed 5K slated for Saturday was canceled because of cold temperatures.
Wild State Cider’s team announced Friday that the Santa Run 5K was canceled.
A cold-weather advisory is in effect Saturday because of wind chills near 35 below zero.
Race leaders said it was a tough decision, but the safety of runners, staff and volunteers is the priority.
Because registration funds were already spent on race expenses, there will be no refunds for runners.
Wild State officials said they are offering the following to runners who paid the admission fee:

Discounted race registration for 2026
