NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Harold Wayne Nichols death will be carried out by lethal injection on December 11 for the rape and murder of Karen Pulley.

Pulley was a 20-year-old student at Chattanooga State.

After his arrest for Pulley’s murder, Nichols was also charged with a multitude of rapes in the East Ridge and Chattanooga areas.

Known as “The Red-Headed Stranger,” Nichols stood trial in 1990.

The execution will take place at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville, Tennessee.

It is scheduled to occur at 10:00 a.m. CST.
