India’s civil aviation authorities have documented a sharp rise in interference with aircraft navigation systems, recording nearly 2,000 cases of GPS disruption over the past two years. The figures were shared by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol in the Lok Sabha.
According to the data, 1,951 instances of interference affecting aircraft GPS systems were reported between November 2023 and November 2025. These reports were filed after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued an advisory in November 2023 making it mandatory for airlines and air traffic units to report any disruptions involving Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS).
