Updated: 10:26 p.m. Wednesday : The Washtenaw County Jail's virtual phone system said that fired U-M Coach Sherrone Moore, 39, was booked in the jail on Hogback Road in Ann Arbor Wednesday night, but provided no information on charges.

Pittsfield Township Police said Wednesday night on Facebook that they were called around 4:10 p.m. to a home in the 3000 Block of Ann Arbor Saline Road, Pittsfield Twp. to investigate an allegation of an assault and that a suspect had been taken into custody. The statement did not mention Moore by name.

The university announced his firing in an email to the media at 4:43 p.m. It's unclear when he was actually fired.
