A thief attempted to splurge more than £10,000 on his victim's Apple Pay after stealing their phone at a bar in Manchester earlier this month. Police began investigating after a phone was reportedly stolen from Mojo Bar, on Bridge Street in Manchester city centre at around 4am on December 5 this year.

It was later reported that £1,731.75 was spent using the victim's Apple Pay account, which connects to bank cards. A further £9,079.29 was also attempted to be spent by the thief.

An investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Greater Manchester Police have now shared CCTV images of a man they want to speak to who they believe could help with enquiries. Anyone with information is being urged to contact the force.
