Eight members of a high school track and field team were injured after they were hit by a vehicle being driven by a suspected drunk driver.
According to KTLA-TV in Los Angeles , the incident occurred at Harbor Boulevard and North Street in Anaheim just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
The runners, boys and girls ages 16 and 17, were standing on the southwest corner with their coach when the driver of an orange Toyota Corolla veered off the roadway and hit them, Anaheim police told the TV station.
They were taken to local hospitals with various injuries, but they are not considered life-threatening, KTLA reported.
The driver, Anthony Alva-Palafox of Anaheim, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of both alcohol and drugs. He was also hospitalized for injuries sustained in
