SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Police are investigating a late-morning stabbing in Springfield.

Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said a man walked into a downtown business around 10:10 a.m. Thursday after being stabbed. The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center and the extent of his injuries are unknown.

Investigators believe that the incident occurred near the area of William Street and Main Street.

The incident remains under investigation by the Springfield Police detective bureau.
