Cadaver dogs are being used today in the search for Craven County murder suspect Dominic Connelly.
Sheriff Chip Hughes told WITN the specialized dogs will search in the area where Connelly was last seen around six weeks ago.
“These dogs specifically look at decomposition of the human body,” Hughes said. “ We want closure , whether he’s in custody or we identify that he’s no longer living.”
The search for the man began after a house fire at a home on Highway 101 outside Havelock on October 25th. Inside, they found the body of the man’s grandmother, 72-year-old Patricia Lopedote.
