MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz sent a letter to U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after he said U.S. citizens were "unconstitutionally detained" during Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations .

Governor Walz asked Noem to review and respond to recent "multiple arrests" in Minneapolis. In his letter, Governor Walz said the actions of ICE agents raised serious concerns about civil liberties and trust between Minnesota communities and federal authorities.

Walz said the citizens were "physically pushed, handcuffed and transported to federal facilities."

Citing recent arrests by ICE agents , Governor Walz called on Secretary Noem to place the ICE agents — who acted unlawfully— on administrative leave.
