POPLARVILLE, Miss. — A Poplarville man has been charged after investigators say they found methamphetamine and firearms during a search at his home, according to the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, deputies with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office and agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics executed a search warrant at 239 Humphrey Road, the residence of David Matthews, 47.
During the search, investigators located methamphetamine, digital scales and plastic baggies commonly used for packaging the drug in close proximity to firearms, authorities said.
Matthews was taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm.
