After signing outfielder Mike Yastrzemski to a two-year deal late Wednesday night, the Braves continued with their offseason business on Thursday, agreeing to a three-year, $45 million contract with closer Robert Suarez .
Raisel Iglesias is expected to remain as the Braves' closer, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, with Suarez coming on in a setup role.

After spending the first six seasons of his professional career in Mexico and Japan, Suarez was signed by the Padres in December 2021. The Venezuelan native made his Major League debut at age 31 the following April. Since then, he has been one of the best relievers in baseball, a subpar ’23 campaign notwithstanding.
