The Cubs and left-handed reliever Hoby Milner have agreed to a one-year contract that's worth $3.75 million and includes incentives, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on Thursday. The club has not confirmed the deal.
Milner, who will turn 35 next month, ranked in the 91st percentile in the Majors in ground-ball percentage last season, when he posted a 3.84 ERA across 73 appearances with the Rangers.
The former seventh-round Draft pick had a career-best 1.82 ERA with the Brewers in 2023, when he walked just 1.8 batters per nine and posted a 0.964 WHIP.
Milner has a 3.82 ERA over 367 outings (one start) in nine big league seasons with the Phillies, Rays, Angels, Brewers and Rangers.
