PLAINWELL, MI –– Madison Nieuwenhuis, a multi-time state champion, is taking her talents to the champions of women’s college wrestling.
The record-setting and nationally ranked Plainwell star announced her commitment to the University of Iowa last month, signing with the two-time defending national champion Hawkeyes on early national signing day (Nov. 12).

Nieuwenhuis, a three-time state champion, will join Iowa with a stupendous prep resume that includes an undefeated record across three seasons. She’s considered the nation’s fifth-ranked grappler at 100 pounds for the 2026 class.
