Lake-effect snow swept over Michigan Wednesday, Dec. 10, dropping over half a foot of snow in parts of northern Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.

Accumulations were highest in northern and mid-Michigan, with moderate and light snowfall in the Upper Peninsula, and west and southeast Michigan, the weather agency reported.

Light lake-effect snow is expected to continue into Thursday evening, Dec. 11, for northwest Michigan and the eastern U.P., followed by another round Friday, Dec. 12, the NWS said.
