Schools across Wigan were put into lockdown following reports of a group wielding a crossbow and shouting at passing cars this morning. Police were called to Norley Hall Avenue following reports of the incident on Thursday (December 11).

Greater Manchester Police's specialist operations unit tracked down the individuals at a nearby property within eight minutes of the initial report. The group was detained and the crossbow was seized. Three men in their 20s and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon.
