Near North Bay District School Board’s (NNDSB) Director of Education, Craig Myles, has retired. Staff were alerted by the school board in an email on Thursday, a copy of which has been obtained by The Nugget.

Notably, the letter announcing Myles’ departure lacks any of the usual pleasantries when the leader of an organization leaves voluntarily, such as wishing them well in their future endeavours, and so forth.

The letter simply notes that he “has retired,” and that he started working for the NNDSB in 2014 and became director of education in 2020.

Myles, however, had a troubled tenure as director of education.
