Dare Ed Board expected to approve $837K donation for “all inclusive” playground at Kitty Hawk Elementary

At its meeting on Monday, Dec. 8, the Dare County Board of Education is expected to approve a donation of about $837,000 from Everyone’s Playground for an ambitious project—the installation of a new “barrier free” playground at Kitty Hawk Elementary School (KHES).

Led by the Surf Pediatric Foundation, Everyone’s Playground will be an inclusive space at KHES where children of all abilities can play freely. The Surf Pediatric Foundation was established in 2010 to provide “outreach to the Outer Banks community outside the clinic walls.”
