Manteo traffic stop leads to cocaine arrest

On Dec. 8, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office released this report.

On Dec. 7, at approximately 03:25 a.m., Deputies from the B-District of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle in Manteo for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, probable cause was established to search the vehicle, resulting in the finding of a felony amount of cocaine.

Ediberto P. Silva, M/35, of Manteo, NC, was arrested and charged with:

Felony Possession of CocaineMisdemeanor DWI (Driving While Impaired)

Misdemeanor No Operators License

Misdemeanor Open Container

Silva has been issued a $27,000 secured bond related to these charges.
