Among those who remember him with deep affection is Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who recently opened up about their relationship and addressed long-standing rumours that the two had a fallout during the making of The Lunchbox.

In a conversation with Hindi Rush, Nawazuddin was asked about reports that he and Irrfan were not on good terms while shooting the acclaimed film. The actor laughed off the speculation and said the supposed “tiff" was simply manufactured gossip. “That was just news. I don’t think everything reported in the news is the truth," he remarked, adding that the reality on set was very different from the drama that later circulated online.
