SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -Good Samaritan Society–Prairie Creek Lodge residents are showing kindness and spreading Christmas joy by stuffing stockings for some special recipients.

They stuffed the stockings yesterday, December 10, and will be delivering them to residents at the Prairie Creek assisted living and memory care facilities.

The stockings themselves were donated by a former Prairie Creek Lodge resident, and about 20 residents worked to fill the stockings with homemade popcorn, candy, candy canes, apples, and oranges.

They included apples and oranges in the stockings because they were historically the only luxuries many could afford.

The residents also wrote cards for those in assisted living and memory care.
