KOUNTZE, Texas — A 60-year-old Southeast Texas man was sentenced to life in prison plus a 20-year sentence Thursday after a Hardin County jury found him guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child and sexual assault of a child.

The trial of Milton Brown, 60, began Monday in 356th District Court before Judge Steve Thomas. The victim was younger than 14 when the abuse occurred, prosecutor Pam Ibeh told 12News on Thursday.

The jury began deliberating Brown’s guilt Wednesday and after 5:30 p.m. returned a guilty verdict. On Thursday morning, jurors returned to deliberate punishment and issued their decision before noon, Ibeh said.
