A very small number of Volkswagen SUV's are being recalled after a review of production recorded indicated that vehicles were assembled using the incorrect wheel bolts.

The affected models are:

• 2026 Volkswagen Atlas (22 vehicles affected)

• 2026 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport (4 vehicles affected)

• 2026 Volkswagen ID.4 (1 vehicle affected)

On October 31, 2025, a worker on the assembly line in Chattanooga noticed an incorrect wheel bolt in the

process, and the NTSB report says that an immediate sort action was put in place.

That action blocked vehicles on the factory premises from inspection until Volkswagen was able to determine that the suspect parts were delivered to the assembly line.
