MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Officials with the Forrest City School District released a statement Wednesday, Dec. 10, alerting the public to a "possible tuberculosis case" inside the school system.

The district's statement said that it is working with state and local health departments and following "all recommended protocols."

The district's full statement reads:

"The Forrest City School District has been made aware of a possible Tuberculosis (TB) case within our school system. At this time, no additional information is available, but we want to reassure our families that the safety, health, and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority.

"Our District is working closely with the School Nurse's Office and our state and local Health Department to follow all recommended protocols.
