The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued new warnings for sub-zero temperatures, thick fog, and freezing nighttime temperatures due to the severe cold wave that has settled across most of northern India on December 11. According to the IMD statement, cold-wave conditions will persist till December 12 over central, eastern, and northern peninsular India.

According to the IMD guidelines, severe fog is expected in northeastern Uttar Pradesh on the evening and morning of December 11. Severe fog is also likely in several parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, and Uttarakhand.
