SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Notre Dame men’s basketball team is getting some help from the football team after one of its star players was injured.
The team announced on Thursday afternoon that freshman cornerback Mark Zackery IV is joining the roster to add depth to the guard position after Markus Burton suffered a left ankle injury that required surgery .
A 5-11 guard out of Indianapolis, Zackery IV guided Ben Davis High School to a state championship and perfect 33-0 record as a sophomore. He scored 16 points in the state title game.
The team also says Zackery was no stranger to the AAU scene, where he played with Indiana Elite in the summer of 2024, who finished as Adidas 3SSB 17U national runner-up.
