Wellington girls basketball player Ava Essay was named the Blue Federal Credit Union Athlete of the Week.

Essay averaged 15.5 points and 3 steals per game in two season-opening victories.

Essay is a fourth-year starter for the basketball team and also plays tennis for Wellington.
