A 75-year-old Reno woman died after being struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in Sun Valley on Nov. 21, according to Nevada State Police.
Nevada State Police responded to the vehicle-pedestrian crash at about 2:23 p.m. at the intersection of Sun Valley Boulevard and Fifth Avenue.
A preliminary investigation shows the driver of a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup was turning left from westbound East Fifth Avenue onto southbound Sun Valley Boulevard while facing a green signal and failed to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
The pedestrian was identified as Daysi Montoya-Salazar. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement.
