EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - An Evansville man is facing numerous charges after police say he kidnapped a woman, held her against her will, and beat her.

Police say it happened in October and involved someone he knew.

Officers say 53-year-old Inester Dawson Jr. broke into the woman’s home, pointed a gun and her and hit her in the head with the firearm.

Officers say he also forced her go to his house, where he kept her overnight.

She was eventually released.

He’s being held in the Vanderburgh Co. Jail without bond.

He’s charged with Burglary, Kidnapping, Confinement, Domestic Battery with Deadly Weapon, Intimidation, and Pointing a Firearm.
